In Ash Class, your child will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects, from English and Maths to Science and Art. We believe in a holistic approach to education, where each child's unique talents and interests are celebrated and supported.
At St Andrew's C of E Primary, we value the partnership between school and parents. We encourage open communication and collaboration to ensure the best possible educational experience for your child. We look forward to working together to help your child thrive and succeed in Ash Class and beyond.
School Day
Children need a coat and water bottle every day. We have free fruit in school but you can provide a healthy snack (no sweets, crisps or chocolate bars, please.) Reading books need to be brought in every day.
PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday and children need to come to school dressed in school PE kit.
Autumn Term 2024 - This term our topic is Where We Live - please use the link below.
Autumn Term Year 1Reading and Phonics
Reading is vital to children's learning in all subject areas. Children read a decodable book in school on a weekly basis to a member of staff which is then taken home alongside a 'Bedtime Book'. We also offer an online system for reading called 'Bug Club' where the children can log in using the details inside the front cover of their reading diaries.
Our phonics scheme is Lesley Clarke's phonics and this term we will be looking at phase 4. Details will be sent shortly.
