Starting School
Starting school is a very exciting time but it can also be a little bit daunting too. There are lots of things that you can do with your child to help them with this transition such as sharing stories about starting school, talking about their feelings and encouraging independence with everyday tasks. The PACEY website has additional information on how you can prepare your child for starting school along with information to help support them during their first few weeks.
Phonics
At St. Andrew's we follow the Lesley Clarke Synthetic Phonics programme. Please use the link in your child's reading diary to access further information and videos which will help you to support your child with their phonic development.
Below are some useful links to help you to understand how phonics works and what we will be teaching your child in class.
